Activity: Voyager's Golden Record

When the Voyager spacecraft were sent into deep space they contained a record of images from Earth. The spacecraft are ambassadors carrying a message of who we are to any civilization that may intercept them. A committee prioritized the images that were selected for inclusion on the outside and inside of the record. In this activity students design their own personal cover plate for the Voyager spacecraft’s mounted record and prioritize their own list of items for inclusion in the record.
